Lola and The Weavers

Lola and The Weavers
The practice of London based multi-disciplinary designer Lola Lely is process and narrative-driven. The creative journey, to Lely, often takes precedence over the final outcome and her work often manifests as interactive workshops and making experiences.
Lola’s fascination for craft, heritage and storytelling are evident in her multidisciplinary collections that span textiles wood and metalwork. In her recent work with textiles Lely combines revived craft processes, such as Japanese shibori with home-made natural pigments procured from all natural resources including food stuffs and flowers. The mark of the maker becomes the key quality in products like aprons, a celebration of the crafts to inspire everyone to create unique pieces. Visit the Atelier during Heimtextil 2018 to work with Lola and experience the unpredictable charm of designing by doing.
